The organisers of the “International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama”, the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cyprus Centre of the International Theatre Institute and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event scheduled on June 25^th  – July 25^th  2020,  due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The organisers decided to cancel this year’s Festival after a thorough evaluation of all parameters and developments inside and outside Cyprus; given the uncertainty of the current lock down situation and the need to maintain the welfare of everyone involved in the Festival.

With the hope that this extreme condition, which we all have been experiencing in recent weeks, will soon be over, the organisers of the Festival will work together so as the “International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama” returns in 2021, so as to meet again all together, artists, contributors and spectators, in the theatres.
